The scanner also fared well both in terms of speed and quality, and the added bonus of being able to remove the lid means you can scan the thickest of documents. Don't expect lab-quality photographic prints, but as a budget printer the 1510 copes pretty well – photos looked fairly true to colour with only a few contrast issues. Text documents appear sharp and colour graphics are vibrant with plenty of detail. AdvantagesĪs an entry-level printer, the HP PSC 1510 quality is fairly impressive.

The printer uses HP's Vivera inks for improved printing quality, unfortunately these come as one single ink tank, meaning they have to be completely disposed of, even when just one colour has run out. The flimsy paper tray folds out from the front and can hold 100 sheets. There are no card slots and only a basic LCD display. Except for the PictBridge port at the front, HP has completely stripped down the PSC 1510. The PSC 1510 is housed in a modern, glossy grey and white shell that will look great in any home office or bedroom.
